tuyytryt

Every Thanksgiving Costco makes these pumpkin rolls that I just absolutely die for. And every Thanksgiving I make it my aim to eat as many of them as I can stand until I get sick. They are that good to me. They come three rolls to a pack, each roll is about eight inches long. Costco knows how to add the right combination of pumpkin and spice and filling and white chocolate that I find them irresistible. I can usually eat seven-eighths of a roll in one sitting (hey, I need to leave some for next time).
I like to eat them in peace, away from my wife who when she sees me with an entire roll on my plate she puffs up her cheeks like a squirrel with a mouth full of nuts as an indication of the direction my weight is heading. Last Thanksgiving I was packing the car with the kids to take them to my parents. My wife was spending Thanksgiving with her siblings because this was the first time they would celebrate it without the matriarch of the family. We would stop by later after leaving my parents.
As I packed the car my wife noticed that I included a Costco pumpkin roll package with only one roll left in it. She puffed up her cheeks and then said, “Honey you’re just being a greedy pig for taking one roll up to your parents. You know I am going to call your mother and tell her what you are doing because that is so wrong…”
I looked at her and I smiled and continued packing. What my wife didn’t realize was that I purchased a second pumpkin roll package to take to my parents, and that the single extra roll was in case someone else wanted to take a roll home. She was pumpkin roll wrong.
What I realized then was that my wife made a decision based upon her own perceptions, which really didn’t reflect my intentions or motivations at all. I extended this thought and remembered the many disagreements we had because she or I had our own perception when reality was so much different. In our last disagreement she wanted us both to change jobs so we could move right away because the housing prices in the neighborhood we wanted to live in were steadily increasing. When she gets housing angst I try to remind her that since both kids are scholarship bound for college that when they finish high school not only will we save on school expenses but also we would have more time to devote on our careers thereby providing us more opportunity to move. She disagrees and our disagreements usually end as another irreconcilable difference and we just move on until the topic is brought up again.
I used to get really frustrated with her but I’ve come to the realization that because she brings her own experiences to table the best that I can do is to listen and acknowledge her point of view and then offer some suggestions that could help us move along in the process. After that, I go back to doing what I believe is best for our future. For me, spending quality time with the family takes priority over building my business or getting a new job because quality family time today is something that I will never get back.

How do you respond when someone has the wrong perceptions of your motivation or actions? And what do you do to effectively live with irreconcilable differences? Here are several things that helped me: [list topics and items here]

Learn to challenge people's comments in your own mind and if you realize they may be right - immediately think of alternatives instead of giving up. As a very basic (and a little bit ridiculous example), If I have a massive ice making machine and I tell someone my idea to sell ice to Eskimos- and they tell me that it's a terrible idea - it'll never work. I don't think, "Yeah - you're right" and quit. I think about where else and who else I can sell ice too. I can tailor my plan based on the advice but never, ever do I let it stop me.

Ignoring It (the Right Way)

The phrase 'ignorance is bliss' is not always true. There are many essential subjects and tasks to learn to be a fruitful and effective person. However, there are certain topics that are best left alone. Ignoring negativity that is towards me is one that is best to be left alone. For example, someone verbally disrespects me. I don't have to respond. More than likely, this person doesn't truly know who I really am or if they do, they're jealous or envious of me. Just as ignorance can be bliss, I don't need to entertain ignorance either. I don't waste my energy or efforts trying to defend myself to someone who doesn't initially respect me. Some people will always 'judge the book by its cover' - just be sure you're not one of those people.

Identifying the 'Glass Half Full' Items

There's so much negativity that happens throughout this world that makes it very hard to find those peaceful and blissful items that make the glass seem half full. However, these items don't need to be huge or accepted by everyone. Another idea behind the glass is the fact it's my own personal glass. I fill my glass with my own items that makes me happy and productive (pumpkin rolls are mine).

For example, I may enjoy foot massages because they help me relax. Then I may love to plant flowers because I enjoy watching them and smelling them when they bloom. I may also enjoy traveling to exotic places for recreation. I may also enjoy just the simple quietness of sitting in a comfortable chair, reading my favorite book. These are various items to help fill my glass to half full and also can help me disconnect from the negativity that's around.

Responding Positively No Matter What

Learning to respond positively no matter what takes daily practice. For example, as I watch the news, after hearing about a tragic event that left some people dead and others in serious or stable condition, I can respond positively by recognizing that luckily all didn't die. I can certainly express and feel empathy for those who lost their loved ones - that's a positive response too. However, I don't allow such a tragedy to stop or hinder my belief that positivity still exists. For those that believe in prayer, pray for those families and those who are recovering. Never stop praying for others. This could be one of the best positive responses you can do! Don't focus so much on the tragedy - it will cause the negativity to linger longer.

Practice being attentive and centered by breathing

Sometimes when a person is being non-constructive you don't have to say or do anything; you can focus on your breath. You can imagine that the feelings he/she and/or yourself is feeling are becoming calmer with each and every breath.

Be compassionate with yourself

The more understanding and kindness I give to myself, the more I will be able receive from and give to others. Compassion is not about tolerating behavior; it's about taking a step back and viewing it differently. I may choose not be around the person who is being negative, but it won't be because I am hiding, avoiding, or coming from a place of anger or resentment, it will be from a peaceful space within me.

Don't take it personally

I only take things personally when it strikes a chord within me. There is a belief somewhere inside that accepts what they are saying as being true for me. Here is the gift, the opportunity, the person is giving me. It's up to me to acknowledge and change it.

So the next time somebody says something to me that is pumpkin roll wrong I can simply nod and smile knowing that they are entitled to their own perspective.

Bеіng аnd independent record label hаѕ іtѕ advantages оvеr major record labels. Thorncity

Id like to tell the story of how and why I started the Thorn City Syndicate artist management company how and why I got started howve far Ive come over the past year and what partnerships ive created being in business the first year and the up in coming 1st of many projects to be released

Thorn City Syndicate began with an idea between two childhood best friends, a Grammy-Award winning engineer and producer.

Tiger Roberts a talented rap artist, named 3rd Twin and me Naeem Hall a hard working business minded individual

After over 10 plus years working as a local youth basketball official, Varsity high school basketball and menss league basketball official and 8 plus years as a Custodian at a Private college located in SE Portland Reed College an independent liberal arts and sciences college referred to as one of the most intellectual colleges in the country. After countless hours of listening to other talented local hip hop artists some new up incoming hungry cats and some veterans who's been doing it for years and some decades  like Jus Familys own Cool Nutz his artists the Fli Boi camp Mikey Vegas and Fli Boi Moe. The Flunkee Gang Soar Losers T. Spoon, Tre Redeau, Manny Monday. Steve-O the Weirdo,  The young North Portland Movement Mic Capes , Vinnie Dawayne and Mat Randol just to name a few.

One day  I realized I had no new material from my best friend 3rd Twin to listen too. Realizing that hes never released a solo project and that he stopped recording music for probably close to 10yrs being that everyone around forgot who he was and how talented he was and still is I decided to pay for my own personal 3rd Twin album to remind everyone why I feel like hes the best to ever touch a mic but like 3rd Twin always says there are no best just favorites hes most definitely my favorite and hopefully he can become yours. Not only that he has a compelling story to tell and thats what separates him form a lot of other talented artists hes good at painting a vivid picture of all the  trial and tribulations in his life hes been thru its a lot and quite a bit as of recently from  losing his grandfather to his older brother and his mother as well.  Being that hes my best friend and knowing how authentic and real his music can be I took it upon myself to take the challenge of making something happen for my best friend who had been feeling down and out and let  life get the best of him. From everyone including some of his closest friends and family talking down on him and making him feel worst I felt it was my job as a best friend to pick him up and get him back on the right track in life back on stage in the booth and feeling good about himself again I did that.

After consulting with a few advisors I developed relationships with over the years I decided to start my own business Thorn City Syndicate LLC  focusing on Artist Management. I think thats whats missing in my town we have a lot of talented artist but not enough talented business men with vision and direction to help these talented artist out with their business independently. Build your brand then market yourself personal branding you are your own brand.

Ex. 3rd Twin we began recorded an Ep started building his 3rd Twin brand away we went. Interviews with radio stations in Las Vegas, Connecticut and Houston shows in Miami and Houston. After returning home we decided to start recording the full length Lp album filming some videos and putting together a documentary called History In The Making and labeling the Ep Hitm which is and acronym for History In The Making.

I contacted a local business man named Mike Harrison who has been owning and operating Comm Plus Wireless  cell phone company for the past two decades 20yrs plus. He was also the first person to actually notice and take interests into 3rd Twins talents he signed 3rd Twin to his first recording contract with DM entertainment at the age of 14 along with Konflic his first group, formed with three other child hood friends. He also owned and operated legendary music recording studio as well called Digital Den. so I knew he had the right connections id been looking for so I set up a meeting to see if he knew anybody that shoots music videos and if his studio was still there. He told me yes he actually just started a media company and that he moved the studio upstairs in the same building but it was still in the process of being remodeled into two rooms an audio/video studios. He told me let me know what your trying to do and to put a business plan together if your serious and thats what I did. Now we have Matrix Media Group/ Gaddis Motion Productions/Thorn City Syndicate. Everything ive done so far was to get to the point where I am now Thorn City Syndicate now has a real strong solid team Matrix Media Group/ Gaddis Motion Productions which gives me the ability to really push my my business to new heights with a home base at the Matrix Media Center now the real work begins.

Mr. Roberts grew up in Chicago, he actually started his career as a very successful boxer. He was a five-time Chicago District Champ and former Chicago Golden Gloves Champion. Even though he was very successful at boxing, as he got a little older, music became Tigers obsession. Determined, he drove to LA and enrolled in the Los Angeles Recording Institute. Soon after, he began working with producer Jimmy Newman and Gladys Knight for which he later won a Grammy for Traditional R&B Album. In addition to his work with Gladys, Tiger has worked with a long list of famous and notable artists and more recently, he has done work producing for Floyd Mayweathers label, Philthy Rich. He is an all-around producer and engineer and can work with any genre or style.

3rd Twin
Little Roy, formerly known as Gemini 3rd Twin, now goes by just 3rd Twin. Born Roy Moore III in Portland, OR. 3rd twin is a 20yr rap veteran who has done it all from winning rap battles all across the country, to being signed to a major label. 3rd Twin started writing raps at the tender age of 12. He landed his first recording contract with DM entertainment at the age of 14. Konflic his first group, was formed with three other child hood friends. One of their first performances was at Portland's second installment of its only local hip hop showcase PO HOP2. Konflic by far were the youngest to hit the stage. From then on, Konflic paved the way for the young mc's around town.
Over the years, 3rd Twin was known for his great talent, remarkable word play and powerful punchlines. He quickly became very popular and known as the hottest MC and best lyricist in Portland. With a captivating stage presence to go along with his great talents 3rd twin burst on to the Portland Hip Hop scene.
In 1999, 3rd Twin joined forces with another local rap group Pros and Cons. This was an 8 member group bred out of the great Northwest. Similar to New York's version of the WU-Tang Clan. Pros and Cons went on to become Portland's highest selling rap group, selling well over 20,000 units between two albums. Between 2000-2002 Pros and Cons traveled across the United States and on to Mexico showcasing their talents.
In 2003, 3rd Twin and two of his fellow group members from Pros and Cons branched off to form a group called DNA (DeNied Access) and got their big break signing to a major record label Bogata' Records/Universal. The company owned and operated by 6-time NBA Allstar Jermaine O'neal. The group eventually moved to Atlanta, GA where they began recording Their first album. Unfortunately the hardships of being in the music business prevented them from putting out an album.
In 2005 3rd Twin moved back to Portland and began working and recording his first solo project. This classic album was never released due to a burglary at the studio where he was recording and all his music was stolen.
In 2008 3rd Twin then relocated to Las Vegas with his two fellow DNA members where they formed the Label Wallstreet Records and began recording in Las Vegas. It was there that he would cross paths with his now Producer/Engineer Grammy winner Tiger Roberts who won a Grammy for producing the Iconic Gladys Knight. 3rd Twin made a big buzz in Las Vegas even getting the attention and eventually was offered a contract from the Great Pound for Pound Champion Floyd Mayweather's record label Philty Rich Records. After contract negotiations stalled 3rd twin decided to take the Independent route and is now back with a vengeance and ready to make his statement in the Hip Hop industry. His Latest Single "Honesty" has the internet in a frenzy and the city of Portland Highly anticipating his long over due solo album. In the words of 3rd twin "there are no bests just favorites" so get ready because he's shooting to be your favorite.

Being and independent record label has its advantages over major record labels. On the business side independent record labels are run as small business, with few employees and lower expenses than major labels. Therefore, they are structured to make more money with fewer record sales. Lower expectations for record sales allow independent labels to take more chances on the types of artists they sign, produce, and promote, which can only bring greater musical diversity and selection to consumers. Independent labels are run in a way that is completely different from major labels. While business executives who are often distant from run corporate major labels the creators of the music they market, just a few people who sign, develop, and work closely with each artist on the roster run many independent labels. This shorter, more direct path from the creation of the music to its promotion helps maintain the artists original intended vision, and simply makes for a more authentic, unaffected musical production. Major labels have also been slow to utilize the marketing potential of the Internet, and have just recently begun to bring in technology-savvy executives to compete with the independent labels that have been using digital distribution and Internet marketing for years.
